Indochine is pretty tasty. Have you ever been to Jessamine?
I need to get out and check more local restaurants out! Indochine is FAB!!! :)
Oceanic - wow they need a better site. Food is awesome!
We only have few authentic Thai restaurants - but, good news is that many of our Asian restaurants incorporate authentic Thai dishes. Don't forget about Jessamine and Double Happiness! Both are great.
Circa 1922, 8 N. Front St., 762-1922. www.circa1922.com. Circa 1922 is home to tapas-style dining and a wine bar in historic downtown Wilmington. Circa 1922 captures the spirit of tapas: fresh, exquisitely presented and highly creative small plates. A 12-bottle custom cruvinet keeps our wines by the glass consistently fresh and true to taste or choose from an eclectic international selection of wines by the bottle. After-work tapas specials, weekly sushi specials and a 3-course prix fixe menu make Circa 1922 a popular downtown destination.
Love Double Happiness too! Gotta tell ya, though...THe best kept secret is Catch 22 on Princess...intimate and Great food! prepare to eat at the bar, or one of the 2 Covetted 2 tops :) great date spot!
Mm, Indochine's the best one I've tried.

For TexMex, though, The Firebelly Lounge is delicious.
My have so many favorites depending on what you are in the mood for !!! Portland Grill, Jerry's, Deluxe, Indochine, Bridge Tender.

I am hoping that this forum isn't just about Thai if so forgive the faux paus (sp?).

If so My favorite Wilmington meal is a Flaming Amy Burrito Barn "Fried Buffalo Chicken Burrito with Ranch", Queso Dip as an app, Tomatillo Salsa from the bar. That is what is good about life!!! Several other fav's around town but I have a last meal request, that is what it will be!

A close second it General Tso's Chicken from Lucky Star. They do it different than everywhere else in town and it is good to me!

Several fancy dancy places I like as well but these are my favorite two meals in Wilmington.

I agree that Firebelly is good and hard to beat $1 tacos on Monday night but I struggle with calling it TexMex. I long for a real TexMex resturant in Wilmington. On The Boarder is the closest but way to commericalized. We need to open a little hole in the wall Tex Mex joint that has people waiting in a line 30 minutes for lunch and a little 4'9" mexican lady in the back running the kitchen.

Ty,
I agree, the best Thai restaurant is Indochine. I think Wilmington has lots of really good restaurants. One of my other favorites is Bone Fish. I know that's a franchise- but they really make some great dinners and their Peach Martini's are the best. Dowtown I like Pilot House.
It would be a short topic if it was just about Thai in Wilmington! I agree with most of the ones above, Portland Grille is our favorite spot for special occasions. The menu is just so creative and has items you won't find anywhere else in town. Sunday brunch spot? try Jester's on Castle St. Very good and the vibe is just right! The Naked Kingfish is another favorite and some of our regular stops are Casey's, Amy's (Big Fat Greek for me!), Cubby's, LaCosta (has gotten much better lately!), Hibachi Bistro and the Mellow Mushroom. I also like George's downtown, great location.

I saw in the Business Journal that Catch is going to be opening up another restaurant at the old Luigi's place (which used to be my favorite restaurant noone had ever heard of, unfortunately that proved to be accurate!) which is on Market across from Harley Davidson.
