Facebook: I check it several times a day. Its easier for me to see what friends are doing without having to call or text/check in and I can still keep up with everyones lives. Love the events application and the ability to see who is coming, etc. I have also found that since I have been puting our gallery events on my facebook page, we are getting a COMPLETELY different crowd of people, and fresh faces, to gallery events. VERY VERY Interesting.

Twitter: I tweet about things mostly dealing with work as most of my followers are other marketing/social media people I know in Wilmington. Most friends dont tweet...but I like the TweetDeck, where I can see all the updates from facebook and twitter happening at one time, on one screen. Also like that I can post on twitter and it automatically uploads to my facebook updates. Great tool. Time saving.

Myspace: I have an account, use to use it daily, but about to shut it down. Its mostly spam and seems to be more popular now among a much younger crowd (middle schoolers).

3rd St. Plaza: Love it! Cant believe I didnt find it earlier. Great site and love to see whats happening in the community and the fact we can talk about it. Perfect. Love the idea of collaborating, not competing.

Meetup.com : I have been an organizer/assistant organizer for many groups on there and have had a huge success rate in meeting new people, networking, etc. I check it every other day for new events happening that I might like to attend.
Youtube: I have lots of youtube friends. Currently I do not post videos but I know several people who do that have thousands of friends and tens of thousands of subscribers. I would rank it as the best social networking site.

Twitter: Great way to meet people in your area. To find new tweeters use: http://nearbytweets.com/

Local Networking:

3rd Street - is at the top of that list. Great layout and interesting blogs.

Goat's Place - is great if you like discussions and chat rooms. Goats Place

Wilmington Rants - is great for the more radical crowd. Wilmington Rants

Cape Fear Networking - The newest kid on the block is a site I created myself. Cape Fear Network

Facebook
and Myspace: Not a big fan of either. It's more for the kids.
