Profile Information

Do you have a business in Wilmington?
No

Here is a brief bio about me.

I am a first time published author of Historic/Romance Fiction. My novel the "Soubise Girl" was published in the Spring of 2008 by Publishamerica.com. I hold a bacelor's degree in general music from UNCW recieved in December of 1999. I have done some subing in the New Hanover Public Schools and now am currently working on my new career as a fiction writer.

I have lived in Wilmington and Oak Island since 1985. I am a transplant from Illinois via Virginia, New York, Georgia, Minnesota and Missouri. I have two children of college age:
Jennifer Raines who is a senior nursing student at East Carolina University (Go Pirates! Aurrrgh!). My son Steven Raines who attends classes at Cape Fear Community College and studies guitar with resident guitarist/ musician Perry Smith.

My husband Charlie Raines works for a major energy company in Southport as an engineer. I am not exactly sure of his title since he has worn many hats there. We have been married since 1980.

I also own a domestic short-haired cat with tuxedo markings whose name explains it all; Queen Phoebe. She is in charge of the lot of us.

It's not the best fit for me either. The library is only about 3/4 mile from where I live. Yes, I did graduate from UNCW a long time ago. Those were good times. interesting that you have a music degree. I have played guitar out there for people for many years but I am totally self taught. As a result, I know my limitations quite well... Take care...jp
