Competition is Good!

First blog but I'd like to see if anyone has thoughts about and/or plans to attend the "Best Of" awards handed out by Encore Magazine at City Stage this Saturday night (2/6/09)?

Julia's had won the category for "Best Florist" for five straight years but we definitely do not lobby anyone to vote for us and actually failed to vote for ourselves in the holiday rush! As the results were delayed first one week, then another.....then another, I realized how anxious I was to get some positive feedback! This competitive thirst was quenched when we finally discovered that we had made it 6 in a row last week.

The realization for me is that I do not want to take this distinction for granted again, it is definitely an honor and I'd love to drum up more community interaction in the process next year. In the meantime I'm looking forward to a great party Saturday night!!!
